In 1857, before Canada was even Canada, J.P. Wiser was distilling and barrelling whisky in Prescott, Ontario. By the early 1900’s, J.P. Wiser was selling whisky all over the world, growing to become Canada’s third largest distiller. His choice to age his whisky longer than others at the time led to both its quality and its popularity. Today, we care about quality as much as our founder, from grain to glass, and we’re proud to carry the legacy of J.P. Wiser’s forward. Our Master Blender Dr. Don Livermore got his start as a microbiologist at the historic Hiram Walker & Sons Ltd. distillery before attaining his Ph.D. in Brewing and Distilling and assuming his current role in early 2012. Don’s commitment to quality, care, and craftsmanship can be tasted in every bottle of J.P. Wiser’s whisky today. He’s the central nervous system of our operation and he’s constantly checking in on every step of our process to ensure that the whisky that goes in our bottles is worthy of carrying the J.P. Wiser’s name.
